Erin Polansky owns Yellow Door Design near Boston. She’s been a color consultant for Paige and Lou NeJame’s CertaPro franchise for years and has lots of spent time working in industrial design.

You may be wondering:

Is Erin pushy?  No, Clients have loved working with Erin over the years.  She will never push a client to choose a color that’s “not them,” but will give them the confidence to choose colors that work with their personality and vision of their space.  She is not temperamental and listens really well.

Has Paige used Erin herself?  Yes, Erin has chosen most of the colors in Paige’s home because Paige is better with Quickbooks than she is with color.  Erin has designed Paige’s house using Paige’s favorite expression:  “Coke in a wine glass” – This translated to painting “fancy-ish” colors in rooms where you can also put up your feet.

Can Clients pay Erin directly?  Yes, she works both with franchisees or Clients directly to get paid for her services.

How does a virtual color consultation work?  Erin and the Client work over Zoom or FaceTime to view the space being painted.  The Client shares their vision with Erin and she recommends paint colors from Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore.  Erin then has large (8″ x 10″) color samples of the finalists mailed to the Client’s home by snail mail.
