Watching James Holzhauer dominate Jeopardy, is a reminder that the constraints and rules we often accept without question could be all in our heads.
Before James, nobody chose the higher-value questions on the board before the lower ones. Maybe earlier contestants were being polite, or maybe they just never considered that there might’ve been another way.
I hear from people all the time:
“I could never… :
…contact that person for career advice.”
…do this thing that might not work.”
… take the initiative without asking my boss.”
What outdated rules should you be questioning?
